Sustainability Consulting

There's something to be said about being “first.” When you're a recognized leader, you set the standard for others to follow. Progressive AE is dedicated to environmental stewardship and is respected by clients for our leadership role in educating, training, and consulting organizations on the “triple bottom line” benefits – economic, social, and environmental – of sustainable design.

WHAT'S NEW

OTHER FIRSTS IN SUSTAINABILITY:

• Progressive AE was nominated for the Grand Rapids Business Journal “Newsmaker of the Year Award” in the “sustainable business movement” category in 2006.

• Progressive AE was the first West Michigan AE firm to become an Energy Star® Partner.

• Progressive AE has more LEED-accredited employees on staff than any other West Michigan company (as cited in the April 25, 2005 Grand Rapids Business Journal ). LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings.

• Progressive AE is the first and only AE firm to be on the Leadership Team for The Community Sustainability Partnership. This consortium is represented by The City of Grand Rapids, Grand Valley State University, Aquinas College, and Grand Rapids Community College.

• One of Progressive AE's Architectural Discipline Leaders is the first AE professional to be invited to become a member of the State Construction Code Board, an appointment executed by the Governor's office.

• Progressive AE partnered with Aquinas College to create a “25 Steps to Sustainability” business conference. One hundred and fifty people attended the free conference to learn how sustainable business practices enhance the economic, environmental, and social performances for businesses.

• Progressive AE was the first AE firm to win an inaugural sustainable building award from the Grand Valley AIA for the Jarecki Center for Advanced Learning at Aquinas College . Progressive AE Healthcare Studio Leader, Lorissa K. MacAllister, is the only member of the Green Guide for Health Care Steering Committee in the state of Michigan.
